We have just had a one night only SELL OUT performance of new topical dark comedy 'Behind The Canvas' which looks at how life experiences shape people into who they are. Written by Lola Remi & Shakella Dedi, Directed by Lucia Cox, the play also explores themes of mental health and the break-down of family. 'Behind The Canvas' was well recieved and is now set to tour this summer. Stay tuned for dates!

Shakella studied Performing Arts at Kingsway College, before going on to focus on Acting at Rose Bruford. She later obtained an MA in Scriptwriting at Goldsmiths. Shakella has undertaken a variety of acting and singing roles nationally and internationally, including Race Today (Barbican, London), The Magic Of Motown (UK & Europe), and Christopher Gatelli’s Off-Westend show Silence The Musical (London). Shakella’s Writing & Producing Credits include: Lost on Location (London Theatre); Women on Wine (Above The Stag Theatre), I’m a Londoner (Tristan Bates) & 1867 (Brockley Jack). In 2010 Shakella founded Insite Productions , which now operates as Diva-Verse Productions.

Collette studied at ‘The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama,’ HB Studios in New York and TVI in LA. She has had a plethora of experience on screen and stage and has recently played one of the leads in the feature film ‘Things I do for Money’, shot in Canada and directed by the Emmy nominated director, Warren P Sonoda. Colette also played the role of Blessing in “Swapsies” a short film for Fox entertainment in the USA. Her most recent television role was Nurse Williams in, ‘DREAMING WHILST BLACK’. Her latest stage production was ‘Foxes’ directed by Beru Tessema for the RADA festival 2018.

Lola graduated from ALRA in 2001. She signed to Pemberton Associates after being seen in a one woman play at the Cockpit Theatre, which she both wrote and produced. She has worked for the BBC on projects such as 'Meet the Ancestors' and Blue Peter. She is also a Voice-over artist and has made several radio adds for the likes of Premier Radio and Capital FM. As a writer, Lola showcased one of her plays at the Edinburgh Festival in 2004 and also went on to stage it at Soho theatre in London. Lola recently wrote and produced her first screen pilot drama series due for release next year 2019.
